If They Persecute Me (LS49)

          'Last Sermon of Jesus'

John 15:20 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do nor know Him who sent Me."
If we are truly Jesus' disciples, He is indeed our Master. We will obey and teach His words only. If we refuse to obey and follow His words, then we are not His disciples. Anyone who disobey Him is not fit to be His disciple. Anyone who changes the meaning of His words or corrupt it, then he has just committed blasphemy, for he made Jesus' words as inferior or imperfect, but his interpretations are superior. Indirectly, he has made himself to be wiser and better than God. These are the false teachers and false Christs.

Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God."
The covetous spiritual leaders persecuted by mocking our Lord's teachings but were admonished by Him. Similarly, prosperity preachers and covetous pastors and church leaders will persecute Bible believing Christians by discrediting and condemning the truth taught concerning serving the unrighteous Mammon.

John 11:47-48 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation."
The spiritual leaders fear that had our Lord Jesus been made the King of Israel, then the Romans would annihilate Israel. They fear men more than God. Similarly, depraved pastors and leaders will fear men (those in authority and the rich and powerful) but not God, thus they will persecute godly Christians.

Mark 5:10 For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. Pilate answered and said to them again, "What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?" So they cried out again, "Crucify Him!"
Out of envy, the spiritual leaders crucified our Lord Jesus and similarly, depraved pastors and leaders will try to destroy godly Christians and their ministries by false testimonies and evil reports.

Act 5:27b-29 And the high priest asked them, saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!" But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men."
The spiritual leaders tried to prevent the truth to be taught in Jesus name. Similarly, depraved pastors and leaders will prevent the truth from being taught otherwise their covetousness, ungodly deeds, distorted truth and heresies will be revealed.

Luke 17:1 Then He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
Brethren, please ensure that we have not wrongly persecuted or judged any Bible believing brethren.
