That Your Joy May Be Full (LS73)

             'Last Sermon of Jesus'

John 16:24 "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."
While the disciples were with our Lord Jesus, they were always filled with excitement, and never had a dull moment. They saw miracles after miracles, and everyone was flocking to meet Him, and even the religious leaders marvelled at His great knowledge and wisdom. They were having such a wonderful time serving Him, that heaven was on earth. They were filled with so much joy that they needed nothing.

Wind and Waves calmed
Mat 8:26 But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

Dead raised
Mat 9:24 He said to them, "Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

Feeding of five thousand
Mat 14:20-21 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Peter walking on the water
Mat 14:28 And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Healing of sicknesses
Mat 15:30-31 Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus' feet, and He healed them. So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

Money from the mouth of fish
Mat 17:27 "Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you."

Jesus the Son of David
Mat 21:9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! 'Hosanna in the highest!" And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?" So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."

Great Wisdom of Jesus
Mat 22:20 And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.
Mat 22:33 And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching. But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
Mat 22:46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.

If we had such great joy being in His presence and witnessed all those miracles just like His disciples, what else do we need to ask of Him?
Brethren, we too can always be in His presence when Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit (the Helper or Spirit of truth).
John 14:15-16  "If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever".
